Copy the permalink to the Reddit video post
- Open the individual video post. Copy its comments permalink or redd.it/POST_ID address, not a subreddit feed or gallery.
- Paste it above. The link check starts automatically; the post ID is kept and tracking parameters are removed.
- Check the returned result and click Download. Some posts have no labeled resolution choices; the available video is then prepared without a manual quality selector.
Supported link shapes
URL patterns, not playable test videos. Replace the placeholders with your own identifiers.

A Reddit post can link to media hosted elsewhere
Only an accessible video resolved by the Reddit extractor can be prepared. An image gallery, text post or external-media redirect is not a guaranteed MP4. redd.it with a post ID is rewritten locally; opaque /s/ share tokens are not resolved. If you have a /s/ link, open the post yourself and copy its full comments permalink.
Where to get the video link
Open the Reddit video post and copy its comments permalink. A redd.it link with the post ID is normalized locally. For an opaque /s/ link, open the post yourself and copy the full permalink.
Supported video links
- Community, user and root comments permalinks
- redd.it links containing a valid post ID
- An accessible video resolved by the Reddit adapter
Not supported in this workflow
- Subreddit feeds, galleries and text-only posts
- Opaque /s/ share codes
- Private or sign-in-restricted content
What happens after you paste a link
If the link does not work
- If the post links to another platform, copy that video’s own supported public URL instead.
- Not every source reports selectable quality labels. When none are available, Download prepares the accessible supported video without inventing a resolution.
Save the file on your phone or computer
Choose a quality if a choice is offered, then select Save video. When the file is ready, your browser will attempt to start the download automatically. If it does not start, select Download file. Check your browser’s downloads list for progress. On iPhone, a Safari download is usually found in Files rather than automatically added to Photos. On Android, check Downloads or your file manager. Your browser settings can change the destination.
Questions about Reddit
Will my Reddit video have sound?
The accessible source determines whether audio is present. Available separate video and audio streams are combined when supported; a silent original does not gain sound.
Do redd.it links work?
A redd.it address containing a valid post ID is normalized without a network redirect. The destination post still needs an accessible video.
Can I download a gallery or subreddit?
No. This workflow returns one video, not photo galleries, subreddit feeds or account archives.
Can I save age-restricted or private posts?
Not when access requires an account or another restriction. SaveMySave does not use Reddit credentials or cookies to unlock that material.
