Get the sharing link for the individual Reel
- Open the Reel and use its sharing controls to copy the link. Control names can differ between the Instagram app and website.
- Paste the complete link, including any copied sharing parameters. Check the title and preview before continuing.
- Choose an available format and click Download. Check your browser’s downloads; saving a file is separate from adding it to your photo gallery.

A Reel, a Story and a profile are different links
This page is for a single accessible public Reel. A profile URL does not identify a video, a photo carousel may contain several items, and a Story is a different workflow. SaveMySave does not use Instagram account cookies to unlock private or sign-in-only material.
Where to get the video link
Copy the sharing link for the individual Reel or video post. The profile’s address is not a Reel link. Keep the copied sharing parameters; SaveMySave normalizes recognized post addresses.

- The video format exposed by the post, not a guaranteed choice of every codec

What happens after you paste a link
If the link does not work
- If you copied a profile, copy the link to the individual Reel instead.
- If the post is public but the source cannot supply a stream, wait and retry once. Do not submit Instagram passwords or account cookies.
Save the file on your phone or computer
Choose a quality if a choice is offered, then select Save video. When the file is ready, your browser will attempt to start the download automatically. If it does not start, select Download file. Check your browser’s downloads list for progress. On iPhone, a Safari download is usually found in Files rather than automatically added to Photos. On Android, check Downloads or your file manager. Your browser settings can change the destination.
Questions about Instagram Reels
Should I remove the text after the question mark?
No. Paste the complete sharing link as copied. Recognized Reel URLs are normalized without asking you to edit the post identifier.
Why is there only one quality option?
Instagram may expose only one supported format for that Reel. There is no useful quality upgrade when the source does not provide a higher-resolution version.
Can this save Stories or photo carousels?
Not in this workflow. Use a link to an individual public video Reel; Stories, photo-only posts and carousel archives are not offered.
Why can I watch a Reel in Instagram but not download it here?
Your Instagram session may provide access that a public web request does not have. Removal, sign-in requirements or temporary upstream failures can also prevent processing.
Can I put a downloaded Reel into my phone’s gallery?
First find the saved MP4 in browser downloads or your file manager. Use the phone’s supported sharing or save-video action; browser downloads do not guarantee an automatic gallery entry.
