How to save a Facebook video or Reel
- Open the individual video or Reel and copy its link with Share → Copy link, rather than the profile or group address.
- Paste the link above. The check starts automatically; video links, watch links and supported share links use the same form.
- Choose an available format and click Download. A visible post can still require a login or be unavailable to the server.
Supported link shapes
URL patterns, not playable test videos. Replace the placeholders with your own identifiers.

The video link matters more than the page name
A Facebook profile, ordinary post or group page is not an individual video address. Copy the video’s own link. Sharing parameters are removed while its video ID or share code is preserved. If a short link is no longer usable, copy the full public video link instead.
Where to get the video link
Open the individual Facebook video or Reel and use Share → Copy link. Copying the profile or group URL does not identify a video.
Supported video links
- Individual public video and Reel links
- Supported watch, video.php, share/r, share/v and fb.watch links
- Available MP4 video formats after the metadata check
Not supported in this workflow
- Private groups and sign-in-only videos
- Profiles, ordinary posts and live archives
- Account cookies and passwords
What happens after you paste a link

If the link does not work
- If a share link fails, open the intended video and copy its full public address.
- If Facebook requires a login or blocks access, another format does not unlock it. Use an accessible video you have permission to save.
Save the file on your phone or computer
Choose a quality if a choice is offered, then select Save video. When the file is ready, your browser will attempt to start the download automatically. If it does not start, select Download file. Check your browser’s downloads list for progress. On iPhone, a Safari download is usually found in Files rather than automatically added to Photos. On Android, check Downloads or your file manager. Your browser settings can change the destination.
Questions about Facebook
Can I download Facebook Reels?
An accessible public Reel can be checked with its individual /reel/ link or supported share link. This does not guarantee access to every Reel.
Can I save a video from a private group?
No. SaveMySave does not use Facebook accounts or cookies, and it does not unlock posts that require membership or sign-in.
Why is H.264 missing?
The formats come from that video. Some Facebook sources offer VP9 rather than H.264. Choosing a codec does not improve the source resolution or grant access.
Does the button download a whole page?
No. This workflow prepares one video at a time, not a profile, group or live-stream archive.
